Each has an effect on the other. Each is <em>effected<\/em> <em>by<\/em> another. You slip in one area, its effects aren\u2019t simply relegated to that area. We fail in one area of our health and we start a chain reaction that effects every other area of our physique and well-being.<\/p>\n<h1 style=\"text-align: center;\"><\/h1>\n<p>This is no more prevalent Than with the most horrifying physical development a young, middle-aged, or older gentleman can incur: the MOOB.<\/p>\n<h1 style=\"text-align: center;\"><\/h1>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright\" title=\"MOOBS\" src=\"http:\/\/www.chadhowsefitness.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/02\/man-boobs.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"368\" height=\"352\" \/><\/p>\n<h1 style=\"text-align: center;\"><\/h1>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: x-large;\">1. Get rid of your plastics.<\/span><\/p>\n<h1 style=\"text-align: center;\"><\/h1>\n<p>Plastics\u2026 the <strong>material we drink our water out of, microwave our leftovers in, and are surrounded by as a baby, raise our estrogen levels.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h1 style=\"text-align: center;\"><\/h1>\n<p>Plastic is literally everywhere around us. Trying to cut it out of our lives is pretty tough, but it\u2019s pretty important.<\/p>\n<h1 style=\"text-align: center;\"><\/h1>\n<p>Not only do plastics raise estrogen levels, but they also have been linked to cancer (especially when heated). So, needless to say, start drinking out of a metal water bottle, don\u2019t give your kids their food in Tupperware containers, and start getting your hormones under control.<\/p>\n<h1 style=\"text-align: center;\"><\/h1>\n<p><strong>Oh, and NEVER heat food or liquid in plastic containers.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h1 style=\"text-align: center;\"><\/h1>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: x-large;\">2. Eat grass fed meat.<\/span><\/p>\n<h1 style=\"text-align: center;\"><\/h1>\n<p>The cows on those massive cattle farms are <strong>pumped full of hormones that raise their estrogen levels<\/strong>. To think that those same hormones <em>aren\u2019t<\/em>\u00a0passed on to us when we eat them is lunacy.<\/p>\n<h1 style=\"text-align: center;\"><\/h1>\n<p>The only way around this is to know that your meat \u2013 of any source \u2013 comes from a farm where they aren\u2019t fed animal bi-products, nor are they given hormones. Thus, <strong>grass fed beef, bison, free range eggs, chicken, pork and so on<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h1 style=\"text-align: center;\"><\/h1>\n<p>If you want to have the testosterone boosting effect of red meat, and the fats from red meat, make sure you\u2019re not eating meat that hasn\u2019t already been pumped full of estrogen.<\/p>\n<h1 style=\"text-align: center;\"><\/h1>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: x-large;\">3. Eat organic produce.<\/span><\/p>\n<h1 style=\"text-align: center;\"><\/h1>\n<p>The pesticides that farmer\u2019s spray on our foods <strong>contain chemicals that raise our estrogen levels<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h1 style=\"text-align: center;\"><\/h1>\n<p>It\u2019s worth it to pay a little extra money (or eat less food at a higher quality if you\u2019re trying to save money) to get food that is not only good for us from a nutrient standpoint, but also a hormonal one.<\/p>\n<h1 style=\"text-align: center;\"><\/h1>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: x-large;\">4. Eat more nuts to help your nuts.<\/span><\/p>\n<h1 style=\"text-align: center;\"><\/h1>\n<p>\u2026 Maybe one of my favourite bullet points ever\u2026 although #8 is a possible rival\u2026<\/p>\n<h1 style=\"text-align: center;\"><\/h1>\n<p>The fat found in nuts helps raise our testosterone levels, thus diminishing our estrogen levels. Nuts are great for testosterone production (seeds included). Again, I\u2019d go with the organic variety.<\/p>\n<h1 style=\"text-align: center;\"><\/h1>\n<p>Lately I\u2019ve found some great deals on organic nuts in my local grocery store, so the deals do exist.<\/p>\n<h1 style=\"text-align: center;\"><\/h1>\n<p><strong>My favourite nuts:<\/strong><\/p>\n<h1 style=\"text-align: center;\"><\/h1>\n<p>Brazil nuts, walnuts (more omega 3\u2032s than almonds), almonds, sunflower seeds, and cashews.<\/p>\n<h1 style=\"text-align: center;\"><\/h1>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: x-large;\">5. If you\u2019re a boy, don\u2019t have soy.<\/span><\/p>\n<h1 style=\"text-align: center;\"><\/h1>\n<p>Soy has been shown to raise estrogen levels. This, of course, includes soy sauce, so eat your sashimi how it\u2019s meant to be eaten: raw and sauceless.<\/p>\n<h1 style=\"text-align: center;\"><\/h1>\n<p>Also, don\u2019t touch edamame. And if you\u2019re allergic to dairy, almond milk or milk from another animal will always be better than soy milk.<\/p>\n<h1 style=\"text-align: center;\"><\/h1>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: x-large;\">6. Eat meat.<\/span><\/p>\n<h1 style=\"text-align: center;\"><\/h1>\n<p><strong>Studies are continually showing that when we became primarily carnivores, we had our greatest spike in human evolution.<\/strong> Our brains were bigger, our noses were bigger (able to breathe better), and our testosterone levels were higher\u2026 yes, I\u2019ll have an article up on this soon\u2026<\/p>\n<h1 style=\"text-align: center;\"><\/h1>\n<p>Meat is good. Don\u2019t let anyone tell you otherwise. Fat is good. Again, don\u2019t let anyone tell you otherwise.<\/p>\n<h1 style=\"text-align: center;\"><\/h1>\n<p>Can you go overboard? Sure. Just make sure you\u2019re varying up your protein sources, and each meal contains vegetables. But humans are meant to eat meat, so go grab a steak!<\/p>\n<h1 style=\"text-align: center;\"><\/h1>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: x-large;\">7. Stay away from beer.<\/span><\/p>\n<h1 style=\"text-align: center;\"><\/h1>\n<p><strong>Beer raises estrogen levels.<\/strong> It\u2019s sad, very sad to say. And I\u2019m not saying that I adhere to this principle, although I have been lately, forgoing my beer cravings for a nice glass of red wine \u2013 which has been shown to have the opposite effect.<\/p>\n<h1 style=\"text-align: center;\"><\/h1>\n<p>If you want proof of beer\u2019s effects on us hormonally, just look at your fat uncle\u2019s beer belly. Estrogen pools our fat in our lower abdomen area.<\/p>\n<h1 style=\"text-align: center;\"><\/h1>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: x-large;\">8. Eat citrus if you don\u2019t want to look like your mistress.<\/span><\/p>\n<h1 style=\"text-align: center;\"><\/h1>\n<p>Alright, that was pretty lame, but I\u2019m guessing you\u2019ll remember to eat citrus fruits now, correct? And in no way do I condone having a mistress, goomah, or lady on the side\u2026 See: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.chadhowsefitness.com\/blog\/2011\/01\/20-characteristics-of-a-real-man\/\"><strong>How to Be A Real Man<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<h1 style=\"text-align: center;\"><\/h1>\n<p>Citrus fruits have shown to lower estrogen levels in men. So eat your <strong>oranges, grapefruits, and sprinkle some lemon into your water (also keeps the body alkaline).<\/strong><\/p>\n<h1 style=\"text-align: center;\"><\/h1>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: x-large;\">9. Shed fat and build muscle.<\/span><\/p>\n<h1 style=\"text-align: center;\"><\/h1>\n<p><strong>More fat = higher estrogen levels.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h1 style=\"text-align: center;\"><\/h1>\n<p>That\u2019s what I was talking about earlier in the article when I mentioned the revolving door of pain that the skinny fat man lives in.<\/p>\n<h1 style=\"text-align: center;\"><\/h1>\n<p>a) cut out grains unless they\u2019re around your workout.<\/p>\n<h1 style=\"text-align: center;\"><\/h1>\n<p>b) eat more saturated and monounsaturated fats upon rising and before bed\u2026 and in general.<\/p>\n<h1 style=\"text-align: center;\"><\/h1>\n<p>c) start lifting weights and stop going for long runs.
