Fabio Cannavaro after scoring a goal – hopefully you’re this happy when you reach yours!
We all have obstacles that hold us back from building our ideal bodies – whether that’s building lean muscle, losing fat, or becoming a better athlete (or all of the above) – there are always things that will hold us back, or at least give as “an out”.
A lot of the time all it takes is one thing to go wrong that beings the slide that eventually leads to us quitting.
If something does go wrong, here are 5 things that can help us remain, and even get back on track to achieving what we have set out to achieve.

The bad times help us appreciate the good.
Things seem to be good here in this pic taken in Vegas so I figured it’d fit with the article haha.
The good times wouldn’t be as good without the hard times. Success isn’t as fulfilling without failure. And happiness isn’t as enjoyed or appreciated without an understanding and experience of what sadness is and feels like.
If all we have to compare is fun with fun and there isn’t an opposite in our lives, we may enjoy happiness, because we’re obviously happy, but we wouldn’t really know just how much to appreciate it.
The same can be said with our health, we don’t know how much to really appreciate good health until we lose it. We can also say this about friends and family. We often appreciate them most when it’s too late.
I started working out when I was 16.
I was a ridiculously skinny guy in high school and I desperately wanted to change my physique. I was also an athlete, so naturally I needed to add some muscle onto my skin-and-bones frame for sports, but also because I wanted to attract a girl or two.

In life, things rank pretty low on the ol’ importance scale. They’re way behind building quality, lifelong relationships, behind experiences such as travelling, accomplishing a goal, facing your fears. Lightyears behind family, friends, finding a career that excites you or at least leaves you feeling fulfilled.
‘Things’” just hold a different meaning, a different level of importance. Their pursuit can be empty, meaningless, but experiences involving other people can last a lifetime. They can leave an imprint on your memory, or help shape the person you are and will be in the future.
Now, with all of that being said, I think it’s safe to say we all aspire to acquire certain things in our lives. Whether that be a dream car or dream watch, when we reach a certain milestone in our lives it’s feels good to be able to actually get those things that we’ve always wanted. By no means are they our primary focus, or in any way the thing that drives us to succeed, but they’re fun to think about from time to time, or if you reach a certain point in life they’d be cool to purchase, nothing more.
In my mind, what’s the point of dreaming if you’re not dreaming big?
Like my goals, or my Bucket List, it’s fun to keep a ‘things’ list, so they don’t just get lost in the shuffle. They can be used as extra motivation, or even to see how your list might change as you go through life. I also keep a little list for the people who are closest to me, things they dream about getting – a list which would be a lot more fulfilling to see completely crossed off.
When I think of things I’d like to purchase, I immediately think of the 3 main things: watches, cars (and sources of transportation) and the smaller things like gadgets, clothes and accessories. So, that’s where I’ll begin my list.

Men (women included of course) have been exploring this question since the beginning of time, so I figure why not explore it a bit more?
What is the meaning of life?
Well, let’s come at it from a different angle. What gives one’s life meaning?
There are a lot of things that I think give meaning or purpose to someone’s life. Read the rest of this entry »
