In the past week I’ve mentioned the system that helped me build 32 pounds in 32 weeks a few times, but I have yet to get into detail about what it really is. So here we go…
Just over a year ago I began writing a book. I had no title, but I had a purpose.
My blog is focused on helping guys build their ideal body – which often means more muscle, less fat, and improved athleticism. Three times a week I cover each of these topics as well as a host of other lifestyle topics ranging from being the best person we can be, to reaching our ultimate goals.
But I wanted to take it one step further and get into real detail about the methods that took me from a skinny, unconfident-in-how-I-looked guy, to building 32 pounds of lean muscle in 32 weeks with a performance-first training system. Methods that haven’t just benefitted myself, but others as well.

Pulling exercises such as the lat pulldown (above) help our shoulders look broader and waste look thinner.
Quick note: Needed 25 comments on the last blog to get you guys the 10-Minute Abs-Shredding workout. Didn’t quite get there, I’ll give it another shot in a week or so. Thanks for all the comments!
The ideal body for a guy looks something like a “V“, or better yet an “X” if you count the lower body as well.
Each “letter” starts out broad, which would be the shoulders, then tapers down through thick and muscular lat and chest muscles into a relatively thin waste. From the waste the body tapers out again to muscular and athletic-looking quads, and decent enough calves.
Here are a number of tips that’ll help you build this “ideal” physique.

Dwight Howard has some freaky genetics, but he’s built himself from a skinny, wiry, guy to a powerful athlete.
It’s no secret that the ladies enjoy a nice pair of shoulders on a guy. But how do you actually build broader, more athletic shoulders? And are they a matter of genetics or can a man actually build shoulders that will appeal to the opposite sex?
Well, yes some of it has to do with genetics, but you can also beat your genetics if you take a bit of a different approach to your training.
Here are 3 unusual tips that’ll help you build broader, sexier, more athletic shoulders that’ll drive the opposite sex wild.

Jason Statham “knocking around” Semmy Schilt in “the Transporter 3“.
How the hell does stretching help you build the body women want?!?
I was going to do an article highlighting the benefits of stretching, but thought I’d bring back a series I was doing a couple weeks ago, which is actually one of the benefits I came up with when I was brainstorming for the original article.
So how exactly is stretching going to help us build our ideal body, or a body that is attractive to the opposite sex?
Stretching as it Relates to a Better Looking Body
Stretching helps with improving posture especially if you’re building muscle, and ladies like guys with good posture. I was surprised to hear many of the girls I talked to in preparation for this series list “good posture” as one of the physical characteristics they look for in a man.
Good posture can mean a flatter stomach, a more confident look and stance as well as fewer injuries. Stretching can help bring your shoulders back if they’re too far forward, keep your stance erect which in turn allows you to stand tall with your head high, literally. You see it all the time in the gym, the jacked guy who’s actually very lean but for some reason his stomach sticks out like he has a gut which can either be a result of steroid use, or tightness in his gluts, hamstrings and hip flexors.
Not only does stretching improve how we look, but also how we perform and our health as well… Read the rest of this entry »
