Why do so few of us look the way we’d ideally want to look?
Things like genetics, hormones, training and nutrition all play a roll. But two things, above all else, determine how we’re going to look: motivation and consistency.
Consistency is often determined by our degree of motivation. Those of us who really want to change our physique usually find the least amount of excuses. The obstacles are the same, but we find our way around them.
Time never a good excuse. We make time for the important things in our life. If we’re consistent in our training and nutrition, it’s because we’ve developed a lifestyle that will lead to us achieving what we have set out to achieve.
This is true in any mission or goal. Those that want it the most usually find a way to make it happen. Another massive determining factor is building our ideal physique is the tools we have around us.
This week we’re going to look at how to make lifestyle changes that will lead to you building ripped muscle. In the next article I’m going to talk about when to eat. I’m going to cover Intermittent Fasting (IF), a way of eating that is great for fat loss and a lot easier for the ‘busy guy’ to follow because of how it’s structured in comparison to other fat loss methods of eating.
Today, it’s all about eating the right meals. Meals that both satisfy our cravings and are good for us at the same time.
Men are far different beasts than our women counterparts. We’re less likely to visit the doctor and exercise, and yet we suffer from more health problems and we die at a younger age. We’re stubborn animals that are made-up of some dramatically different hormones that our environment seems to be hard at work on diminishing (see ‘Testosterone Article‘).
Men think differently than women. We train different, and we should be eating in a different way. Where the fitness industry spends a lot of time focusing on women, we’re going to go over 50 facts about men’s fitness. I’m not only showing you scary stats and problems with how we eat and train, but providing a solution wherever a problem arises.
Make sure you go through all 50 then add your men’s fitness fact in the comments section. Read the rest of this entry »
A few weeks ago I sent out an email asking if you had any questions regarding training, nutrition, or even motivation and work. If you didn’t get the email, here’s how to get in the mix and become a part of something awesome, and get some cool free stuff too: The Real Thor Workout.
The response was huge. A lot of emails and great questions came flooding in and there were some really great questions as well. And I really appreciate the massive response. Many were similar, which makes sense as we struggle from a lot of the same things. So if you don’t read your specific question on the blog, you will see one that’s very similar.
There were too many to answer in one blog post, so we’ll have to break it up into a series.
If you didn’t get a chance to send a question, please ask it in the comments section, I’ll answer all of them.
The goal of this ‘Get Ripped‘ series is to give you strategies that both work, and are easy to follow. In order to get ripped, and stay ripped 365 days a year, there has to be alterations in our lifestyle. Dieting and following fads will always fail. But living a healthy life, and living in a way that is both fun, and easy to follow will last forever.
I’ve stayed at – or around – the same weight and same body-fat percentage for more than a couple years now, not because I live a strict life or because I have insane genetics, actually both are far from the truth. Instead I’ve figured out foods that taste great and are great for maintaining muscle, but also fat loss.
I mean, I have French Toast 4 times a week (syrup and all). I have grass fed beef burgers (no bun) with cheese, pickles, and mustard 4 or 5 times a week. I drink beer, Scotch, and smoke cigars. Yet, I’m in the best shape of my life. A miserable life filled with restriction isn’t a prerequisite for a life lived with our ideal physique.
Over this article, we’re going to go over some of the tricks I’ve incorporated in my dieting that have helped me see the results I want to see without making a ton of sacrifices in my lifestyle. We’ll also talk about some effective supplementation techniques that help us build muscle and burn fat at the same time.
You don’t have time to be both happy and mediocre. ~ Seth Godin

Sometimes it’s 6 am, but there’s something invigorating about getting up a couple of hours before the sun rises. Read the rest of this entry »
Strong. Powerful. And Confident. That’s how I see myself. I see myself as a guy that can handle myself and protect the people I love. I see myself having the confidence to walk up to my dream girl and starting a conversation. The guy who can do what I want, when I want. Not in an arrogant sense by any means. Simply in that I’m strong enough, powerful enough, and confident enough to physically accomplish what I want, but also mentally strong enough to do so as well.
But then I wake up. I realize I’m a skinny guy who has this strength within him. But doesn’t yet know how to unleash it.
No matter where we are in life. If we’re overweight, or if we’re too skinny. Or if we simply aren’t quite where you want to be. We all have an idea of what we’d ideally look like.
If there were a magic pill that…
We could take that would get us our ideal bodies – one that would cut out the process, the struggling, the sacrificing, the wondering of what is going to work and what isn’t – in an instant. It’d already be in the mail.
