Hey guys,
My name’s Chad Howse and I want to tell you a bit about myself and how I gained 32 pounds of lean muscle in 8 months.
Let me start of by saying that I have tried every which way to train, and pretty much failed in every way you could think of. I have always wanted to gain muscle, and being a naturally skinny, wiry guy I found it pretty hard to successfully do so.
For years I tried to train like the bodybuilders, who were both genetic “freaks”, with what they have naturally been blessed with in the way of muscle, but they’re also taking loads of steroids. So needless to say, the bodybuilding didn’t go too well (for a number of reasons, some of which are explained in my blog: chadhowsefitness.com).
I have also been an athlete my whole life, so improving my performance was also a must. I also never really saw the point of just working out for looks, which is what bodybuilding essentially is. I mean I see the point, and the benefits are numerous, but performance has always motivated me a lot more than just training for a better looking body.
In a perfect world I wanted to have a great body and the athleticism to back it up.
Anyways, I began to train for performance in high school and college where I played basketball, and I developed a good skill set, but the size never came, which is actually something that’s pretty important when you’re less than 150 pounds, standing 5’10 and playing basketball in college. Not to mention the fact that girls were maybe the most important thing around at that time, and being a toothpick didn’t really turn many heads.
But then came boxing, and a job that changed everything.
To make a long story short, I got a job as a trainer at an awesome gym where professional and semi-pro athletes worked out and were trained. They had some great trainers there that really helped me understand how to maintain and gain lean muscle while improve athleticism at the same time.
Boxing taught me a new level of work ethic. I had always been a hard worker, but it was more for repetition and skill, but training for boxing was as intense as it gets. So with the new knowledge from the job and from boxing I began to form my own opinions of how to become a complete athlete, or a complete “man” when it came to fitness. And now it was time to put those ideas to the test.
I developed some pretty intense workouts and actually ended up achieving some pretty crazy results, and for the first time in my life I was not only strong, powerful, lean, and athletic, but also muscular!
I gained 32 pounds of lean muscle in 8 months. I felt better in the gym sparring, better in the weight room working out, and just better in everyday life because of how I felt about my body.
For the first time I was confident in my own skin when it came to my looks, but also in what I could do with the physique I had worked so hard to build.
This site is dedicated to helping you get to that same point. To help build lean muscle or shed the fat and construct the body you were meant to have, but to also make it a useful one, and to be the ultimate you.
Well that was my story, if you have any more questions feel free to email me at chad@chadhowse.com and I’ll get back to you as soon as I am able.
I’m looking forward to being a part of your story. Let’s get started.
Take care,
Chad Howse, CPT
